Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced store leadership professional to oversee daily operations, staff management and customer service across departments. You will mentor the team, manage P&L and drive sales while maintaining Meijer standards.

The role emphasizes staffing, training, and succession planning to ensure exceptional service and operational efficiency in a large Midwest retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions; teach suggestive selling.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day operations within various departments of the store.
• Mentors and coaches team members to meet customer service and sales goals and adhere to Meijer standards.
• Ensures staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes career development paths and participates in promotion decisions.
• Manages P&L, sales targets and shrink for the department.
• Maintains store appearance, especially during prime shopping hours and for product presentation.
