Job summary

Fortem Technologies is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer II to wire together TrueView radar sensors, SkyDome software, and DroneHunter interceptors with customer networks into a unified, reliable system.

The role entails hands-on integration, deployment, and overnight troubleshooting for international customers outside U.S. business hours, with an initial day shift training period before transitioning to graveyard coverage. Strong documentation and self-sufficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience (or an additional 4+ years in lieu).
• 3+ years in systems integration, network engineering, or technical deployment.
• Proven ability to own integration tasks independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, switching, firewall config, secure remote connectivity.
• Strong Linux administration experience and command-line proficiency.
• Experience integrating and troubleshooting REST APIs/JSON payloads using Postman, curl, or similar tools.
• Scripting/programming in Python, Bash, and/or C++ for diagnostics and tooling.
• Excellent asynchronous written communication; thorough, actionable handoff notes and case documentation.
• Ability to work the graveyard shift on an ongoing basis.
• Export Control: US persons for ITAR/EAR as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Configure, integrate, and commission Fortem systems with customer networks and third-party sensors.
• Support customer API integrations: validate endpoints and troubleshoot requests/responses.
• Troubleshoot integration issues across hardware, software, and network layers with first-principles approaches.
• Monitor system health and alerts during overnight coverage; drive issues to resolution or handoff.
• Provide backup overnight coverage alongside the night-shift team for continuity.
• Coordinate with on-site teams and customer IT to resolve cross-timezone conflicts.
• Use integration tooling and propose improvements via change processes.
• Produce and maintain runbooks, diagrams, and knowledge base articles.
