Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense in Tucson, AZ seeks a Field Systems Integration Engineer to deploy, test, and support software systems in lab and field environments. You will bridge software development and end users by validating performance on actual hardware, at customer sites, and during live test events.

The role focuses on system-level software integration, field testing, and on-site troubleshooting, with opportunities for direct customer engagement and installations as knowledge grows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software integration, testing, deployment, or system-level validation
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, and hands-on field experience
• Able and willing to travel up to 30% for field deployments and installations (primarily domestic, some international)

Responsibilities

• Test and validate software in lab and field deployments to ensure it meets user and mission requirements
• Design, execute, and maintain test plans; document and report defects from real-world operating environments
• Collaborate closely with developers to diagnose issues observed during installations, demonstrations, and field testing and improve product quality
• Set up, configure, and integrate hardware/software systems for internal testing and on-site testing, customer installations, and demos
• Provide technical support to customers and partners both remotely and on-site
• Troubleshoot software, system, network, and deployment issues at customer locations and test events
• Travel regularly for installations, demonstrations, and operational test events
• Develop deep product knowledge and act as a customer-facing technical resource in field environments
• Work independently in the field while contributing effectively to a collaborative engineering team
