  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and make sound operational decisions within documented authority.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent incidents and recognize when immediate escalation is required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams, on‑call personnel, business users, and external customers during overnight incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Perform proactive overnight health checks of client infrastructure, hosted services, backup jobs, replication processes, scheduled automation, and other critical operational services.
  • Coordinate overnight incident response for outages and service interruptions; engage on-call engineering, leadership, vendors, or client contacts as required by the escalation matrix.
  • Provide intermediate-level network troubleshooting and configuration support, including Meraki, Cisco, switching, routing, wireless, firewall connectivity, and VPN tunnels.
  • Provide intermediate-level troubleshooting of Windows workstations, file servers, Windows Server platforms, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related services.

  • Participate in major incident response and root cause analysis by capturing timelines, contributing factors, corrective actions, and follow‑up items.
  • Create comprehensive shift‑turnover notes for unresolved incidents, pending maintenance, client communications, and risk requiring day‑shift follow‑up.
  • Ensure all overnight incidents, alerts, maintenance activities, changes, escalations, and client communications are fully documented before shift completion.
  • Identify recurring overnight alerts or operational issues and recommend monitoring, documentation, automation, or process improvements.
  • Use PowerShell or other approved tools to gather diagnostic information, improve repeatability, and automate appropriate routine administrative tasks.
  • Maintain and develop required diagrams, documentation, procedures, and IT asset records for internal and client environments.
