Job summary

Fortem Technologies in Lindon, Utah seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead C++ software integration of third-party sensors and mitigation systems into the SkyDome platform. You will build robust software to onboard radar, EO/IR, acoustic, and mitigator hardware alongside Fortem’s own sensors and DroneHunter interceptors.

You’ll design drivers, SDKs, and protocol adapters, work with cross-functional teams, and contribute to automated testing and field deployments at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional C++ development, with C++17+ proficiency.
• Experience integrating third-party hardware/sensors via serial/Ethernet/protocols.
• Strong multi-threaded, real-time, and networked systems programming.
• Linux development experience; Git and CI/CD familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement C++ software that integrates third-party sensors and mitigation systems into the SkyDome platform.
• Develop and maintain driver interfaces, SDKs, and protocol adapters for new integrations.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems engineering and product teams to define requirements and ICDs.
• Build automated test harnesses to validate data fidelity and system performance.
• Debug and resolve real-time data processing and distributed-system issues.
