Job summary

Duke University Health System is hiring a Surgical Technologist for the Birthing Center nights in Durham, NC. The role supports sterile technique, room preparation, and instrument handling under RN supervision.

The position requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or NBSTSA/NCCT certification, with BLS for Level I/II. Relocation or bonuses may apply based on eligibility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or NBSTSA/NCCT certification.
• BLS certification required for Level I/II.
• Experience in OR and ambulatory settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain sterile field and ensure sterility for all cases.
• Prepare the Operating Room with instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Pass instruments correctly and perform counts for sponge, needle and instrument.
• Assist with patient preparation and post-operative instructions when applicable.
• Coordinate case scheduling and support ancillary staff as needed.
