Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in various store areas assist development.
• Clear direction to team members and effective conflict resolution.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze basic financials.
• Experience in leading staff and teaching suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated leadership in safe, compliant operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members; drive customer service and sales.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote career development and succession planning.
• Document disciplinary actions and advise on discharge decisions.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales targets and control shrink.
• Ensure Meijer Friendly Initiative is communicated in meetings.
• Provide training and ensure area maintains Meijer standards.
• Spend most time in-store engaging with customers and staff.
• Maintain a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
