The PIC supervises staff, handles emergencies, and can perform cashier and clerical duties as needed. The role requires strong customer service, the ability to follow company policies, and independent work when Managers are away.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all positions within the store.
• Ability to work independently.
• Desired: Prior experience as a clerk or manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service as defined by the employer within policy.
• Responsible for handling emergencies, customer complaints, and supervising all store personnel.
• Maintain familiarity with company policies and procedures.
• Supervises the sales floor to monitor service and stock replenishment.
• Replaces stock in displays around the checkout area.
• Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Assists other cashiers with computer, register, and scanner problems.
• Performs basic office functions to assist customers and personnel.
• Operates the cash register to total final bill and receive payment.
• Bag groceries and offer carry out assistance; assist with that task if needed.
• May be responsible for closing out the day in the office.
• May count tills when other cashier-checkers leave.
