Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas are helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly within the organization.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions; teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Mentor and coach team members to support development and performance.
• Drive store sales while ensuring customer needs are met and service is efficient.
• Oversee P&L and maintain shrink for the department.
• Ensure the store appearance aligns with brand standards and prime shopping hours.
• Model exceptional, fast, and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Promote safe work environment and ensure training completion.
