Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for the Boardman, OH area. This full-time night position (7:00 pm – 7:30 am) offers opportunities for new grads and nurses with under 1 year of experience to deliver comprehensive patient care on a step-down unit.

The RN will perform assessments, administer medications, coordinate care, and participate in quality improvement to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and teamwork are essential.
• RN licensure and BLS/ACLS certifications may be required.
• BSN preferred; 1 year RN experience preferred; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
• Administers medications in a safe manner.
• Serves as point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments.
• Acts as patient safety advocate by participating in quality improvement.
• Collaborates with spiritual, palliative, and ethics teams for patient advocacy.
• Clinically manages patients with multi-system organ failure or multisystem trauma.
• Uses AACN Synergy Model to restore and maintain patient stability across lifespan.
• Synthesizes information for rapid, evidence-based actions.
