Job summary

Antech Diagnostics is hiring a Specimen Processor at our Lake Success location. The role focuses on receiving, preparing, and processing samples for laboratory analyses, with an 11pm–5:30am shift and training times noted.

High school diploma required and 0–1 years of related experience preferred. Responsibilities include accurate data entry, labeling, inventory management, and adherence to SOPs while maintaining compliance with safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Reasoning and analytical skills to resolve issues.
• Communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare samples for analyses.
• Process standard requisitions at expected rates.
• Label samples and enter data accurately.
• Scan tubes into storage and manage inventory.
• Sort samples for distribution throughout the lab (Coggins, cytology, etc.).
• Accession various sample types for processing.
• Check all trash containers within the Specimen Processing department when assigned.
• Assist other lab personnel with specimen storage.
• Ensure Turn Around Times (TAT’s) are met.
• Follows applicable SOPs and maintains a clean, organized work area.
