Job summary

Antech Diagnostics is seeking a Specimen Processor to receive, prepare and process diverse samples in a laboratory environment. You will follow SOPs, ensure data accuracy and maintain quality standards while handling up to 50 lb lifts and biohazard precautions.

The role requires a high school diploma (science coursework preferred) and 0–1 years’ experience. Training shifts and a nocturnal schedule apply, with comprehensive benefits through Antech.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; science-related classes preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Receives and prepares samples for laboratory analyses.
• Accurately process standard requisitions per approved procedures at expected rates.
• Removes specimens from transport bags, enter patient data, label samples and aliquot as needed for multiple testing.
• Keep inventory of samples after testing by scanning into storage racks.
• Search lab for samples not scanned into storage racks.
• Sort samples for distribution throughout the lab (Coggins, cytology, etc.).
• Scan tubes into storage racks and enter specimen data into database to verify accuracy.
• Accession various sample types for processing.
• Check all trash containers within the Specimen Processing department when assigned.
• Assists other lab personnel with specimen storage.
• Ensure Turn Around Times (TAT’s) are met.
• Follows SOPs, including safety and quality procedures.
• Maintains clean and organized work area.
• Restocks supplies as needed.
• Consult with senior peers on non-complex specimen processing tasks to learn through experience.
• All other duties as assigned.
