Job summary

Antech Diagnostics, part of Mars Science & Diagnostics, is seeking a Specimen Processor in our New York lab to receive, prepare, and process samples for testing. The role requires attention to detail, data entry accuracy, and the ability to work nights from 11pm to 5:30am, Mon-Sat with alternating Saturdays off and training Mon-Fri 12am to 7am.

Target pay is $22.12 per hour, with opportunities to learn through mentorship and grow within the lab team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, with science classes.
• 0-1 years related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and prepares samples for laboratory analyses.
• Accurately process standard requisitions per approved procedures at expected rates.
• Removes specimens from transport bags, enter patient data, label samples and aliquot as needed for multiple testing
• Keep inventory of samples after testing by scanning into storage racks.
• Sort samples for distribution throughout the lab (Coggins, cytology, etc.).
• Scan tubes into storage racks and enter specimen data into database to verify information
• Accession various sample types for processing
• Check all trash containers within the Specimen Processing department when assigned
• Assists other lab personnel with specimen storage
• Ensure Turn Around Times (TAT’s) are met
• Follows SOPs, maintains clean and organized work area, restocks supplies
• Consult with senior peers on non-complex tasks
• All other duties as assigned
