Job summary

Cheney Brothers, Inc. is seeking a Shuttle Driver for the night shift in Medley, FL. You will transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards, adhering to DOT rules and company safety guidelines.

The role requires a CDL-A with Doubles Endorsement, 21+ years old, and availability for Sunday–Thursday night shifts. Benefits and comprehensive pay apply from day one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 1 year or more commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday–Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from approximately 60 to 90 pounds, depending on the location.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) and DOT-compliant inspections.
• Report safety issues and required repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Inspect trailers for proper load and security.
• Ensure route paperwork is with the load and available at dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers per schedule.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures safely.
• Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Secure equipment and freight; lock as required.
• Record hours of service daily and log per regulations.
• Maintain clean tractor and loading dock areas, and assist with housekeeping.
