Job summary

Cheney Brothers is seeking a Shuttle Driver for the night shift (7:00 pm – 9:00 pm dispatch) with a Sunday-Thursday schedule and occasional Fridays. The role moves empty trailers to warehouses and returns full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards, operating under DOT regulations.

Compensation ranges from $70,200 to $74,500 annually with Day 1 health and wellness benefits, 401(k) matching, and growth opportunities within a safety‑conscious environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 1 year or more commercial driving experience preferred.
• CDL A with Doubles Endorsement required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all state licensing/certification requirements where applicable.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Third shift Sunday-Thursday nights; schedules may vary.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Valid DOT Health Card or able to secure one.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) on tractor/trailer per DOT regs.
• Report safety issues and needed repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies; secure freight.
• Ensure route paperwork is complete and available at dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers according to schedule.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures safely.
• Park and store tractors/trailers in designated areas.
• Secure equipment and freight; handle damaged goods and returns.
• Maintain hours-of-service log per company and DOT requirements.
• Assist with general housekeeping in loading dock and trailer areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
