Job summary

Cheney Brothers, Inc. seeks a Shuttle Driver to move empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards, operating tractor-trailer and/or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes in a safe, DOT-compliant manner.

Requirements include a valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement, 21+ years old, and 1+ year of commercial driving. Training pays $225 daily; average annual pay is $70,200, with Day 1 benefits and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year or more commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet state licensing/certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Work a 3rd shift (Sun–Thu nights).
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Valid DOT Health Card or able to secure one.
• Able to lift 60–90 pounds and operate loading equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks pre/post trip on tractor/trailer and trailer per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues or needed repairs.
• Comply with DOT regulations and company safety policies; secure freight.
• Ensure route paperwork is available at dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers according to schedule.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures safely.
• Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Secure damaged goods and returns for driver check-in.
• Unload equipment and remove trash as required.
• Maintain daily log of hours of service per regulations.
• Keep tractor, dock area, and trailers clean and organized.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
