Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is hiring Engagement Specialists for Faith Mission in Columbus, Ohio. This full-time role covers overnight and daytime shifts in a large homeless shelter, helping residents with services, bed assignments, and daily operations.

Salary is $20 per hour with shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends; benefits include health/dental/vision, retirement, PTO, and more. The role emphasizes service to those in need and community impact.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with homeless or other special needs populations preferred.
• Ability to communicate with diverse groups.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greets volunteers, residents and prospective residents and provides information and supplies as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of shelter facilities and dorms.
• Assigns and supervises resident service work and encourages participation in services.
• Maintains bed counts, shelter capacity and takes resident attendance.
• Assists with donation receiving and delivery and guides clients to Faith Mission services.
• Performs other duties as requested.
