Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required.
• Experience with homeless or other special needs populations preferred.
• Ability to communicate with diverse groups and work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Greets volunteers, residents, and prospective residents in a welcoming manner; provides information and supplies related to shelter services.
• Performs intake paperwork and verifies eligibility for shelter approval.
• Maintains facility cleanliness and sanitation; manages bedding, laundry, and common areas.
• Inspects bags and items entering the facility; logs and secures medications.
• Enforces shelter rules, supervises daily chores, and communicates with managers about concerns.
• Takes attendance, maintains bed counts, and coordinates meals with providers.
• Opens/closes shelter daily and attends all-staff meetings.
