Job summary

Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Dallas County is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide a wide range of respiratory care services for adults and neonates. You will perform ABG analysis, PFTs, oxygen and aerosol therapy, airway maintenance and mechanical ventilation under indirect supervision.

The ideal candidate has graduated from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, holds current BLS and ACLS, and is licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Texas.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• NRP/PALS must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Texas license as Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen, aerosol therapy, and ventilation support.
• Interpret ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECG results.
• Prepare treatment evaluations from bedside assessments and medical records.
• Interpret patient data (CXR, ABG, PFTs) and make appropriate actions.
• Inspect, operate, and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Support infection control, safety, and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain and clean cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
• Engage patients with appropriate scripting to improve satisfaction.
