Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a full-time Day Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide a range of therapeutic and diagnostic services for adults and neonates. The role includes ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen therapy and airway maintenance under indirect supervision of the medical director.

The ideal candidate will have a valid Texas RRT license, NBRC registration and current BLS/ACLS; NRP/PALS must be obtained within the first year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, incentive spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
