Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center, a major North Texas teaching hospital, seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to support neonatal and adult patients with AVP, oxygen therapy, and ventilation management. You’ll work under medical direction within department policies and provide comprehensive respiratory care across age groups.

The role requires BLS/ACLS, NBRC RRT certification, Texas license, and 6 months of experience, with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen, aerosol therapy, humidity therapy, IPPB, and ventilation support.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gas, pulse oximetry, PFTs, and ECGs.
• Develops treatment evaluation from patient assessment and records review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
• Maintains and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment and supplies.
• Contributes to infection control, safety, and quality assurance.
