Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center has an opening for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to support adult and neonatal care. The role involves performing ABG, PFTs, and various ventilator supports, oxygen therapy, and airway maintenance under supervision of the department medical director.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS & ACLS, NBRC registration, Texas licensure, and at least 6 months of experience. NICU experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, humidity therapy, and mechanical ventilation management.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function tests, and electrocardiograms.
• Prepares treatment evaluations including bedside respiratory assessment and review of patient records.
• Interpretation of CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
• Assembles, checks, and maintains cardiopulmonary equipment and related devices.
• Contributes to infection control, safety and quality assurance activities.
