Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, and airway maintenance for adults and neonates. Under indirect supervision, you will assess and treat patients across ages and uphold departmental policies.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, current BLS and ACLS, Texas license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, NBRC registration, NRP

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Texas Medical Board license in good standing as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, incentive spirometry, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy and ventilator management.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs.
• Performs bedside assessment and reviews patient records to guide treatment.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data to inform care.
• Operates and troubleshoots CP equipment (ventilators, oxygen analyzers, delivery devices, gas analyzers).
• Maintains infection control, safety and quality assurance.
