Job summary

Mercy Health in Springfield, OH is seeking a Progressive Care (Step Down) RN for a PRN night shift to deliver high-quality patient care across Med-Surg and ICU interfaces.

The role emphasizes leadership, care planning, patient safety, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and 1 year of RN experience are required or preferred, with Mercy Health offering comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience (required)
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, ACLS required within 6 months)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates outcomes
• Serves as point of contact for patients’ care coordination across departments
• Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in quality improvement in the department
• Administer medications safely per policies and state practice
• Other duties as assigned
