Job summary

Mercy Health in the United States is seeking a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver patient care using the nursing process and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. The role emphasizes assessment, care planning, education, and advocacy across the lifespan.

The position requires an active RN license, BLS (ACLS preferred with 6-month clock), and may prefer CCRN/PCCN with NIH Stroke certification. It is a night-shift, full-time role with weekend and holiday coverage expectations.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure
• BLS required; ACLS preferred with certification within 6 months of hire
• CCRN preferred
• PCCN preferred
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment and plans care
• Administers medications safely per policies
• Acts as care coordination contact across departments
• Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Advocates for patient choices and family involvement
• Manages care for patients with multisystem issues across the lifespan
• Applies the nursing process to deliver evidence-based care
• Collaborates with care team to ensure coordinated treatment
