Job summary

Qualifications

• Active and valid RN license in the state of California.
• Current BLS certification (AHA) on hire.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days for ER/ICU/Telemetry.
• BSN degree preferred; RN-C within 2 years of hire preferred.
• PALS within 30 days of hire for units admitting pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Support administrative responsibility for the department service functions with the unit Director/Manager.
• Develop and implement departmental plans, including performance improvement and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate orientation and training of personnel within the department.
• Communicate with staff, physicians, and administration in writing and verbally.
• Be accountable for staff quality and function during the shift and ensure efficient operations.
• Perform direct patient care as needed within the scope of practice and adjust care plans as required.
