Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (AHA) certification required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS (AHA) required within 30 days of hire for ER/ICU/Telemetry.
• BSN preferred; RN-C within 2 years of hire preferred.
• PALS within 30 days of hire for units admitting pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Support administrative responsibility for the department and collaborate with unit Director/Manager.
• Develop and implement departmental plans including performance improvement activities and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct orientation and training of personnel in the department.
• Communicate with staff, physicians, and administration in writing and verbally.
• Ensure quality of staff and functions during shifts and assist in daily operations.
• Direct, supervise, and evaluate personnel; ensure efficient department operations.
• Perform direct patient care only as needed and within scope of practice; continually assess care and adjust plans.
