Job summary

BMCHS in Boston, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical unit (6 West Telemetry), 36 Hour Nights. Deliver nursing care, assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, evaluate, and educate patients.

You will communicate with the health care team and families, coordinate care with inter-professional colleagues, update patient records, and support quality improvement initiatives. A BSN/ASN preferred, MA RN license, BLS/ACLS, PCC within 1 year; 1+ year RN experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Licensed RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PCC certification within 1 year.
• 1+ year of RN experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication; basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in Medical Surgical, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow BMCHS guidelines and policies.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
