Job summary

Medical City Las Colinas is seeking a RN Med Surg Tele PRN to provide high-quality, patient-centered care on the night shift (7:00pm - 7:00am) with rotating weekends. You will collaborate with providers and care teams to ensure outstanding patient experiences and outcomes.

The role emphasizes advocacy for patients and families, and adherence to established nursing models while supporting the hospital’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
• Associate's Degree okay to start, Bachelor’s Degree required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Current RN license in the State of TX or compact license.
• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• 1 year acute care experience in area/unit highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
