Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking an RN for a full-time night shift (7:00pm–7:00am) with rotating weekends. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure outstanding outcomes.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, care planning, teaching, and advocacy in line with state standards and nursing models. A strong foundation in acute care and ortho experience are preferred; TX RN license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Associates degree acceptable to start; Bachelor's must be obtained within 24 months.
• Current TX RN license or compact license.
• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care hospital within the last three years is required.
• Experience in Ortho is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the health status and needs of patients through health data interpretation in collaboration with the care team.
• Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Formulate a nursing care plan based on nursing diagnoses and problems.
• Implement nursing care within the RN scope of practice.
• Develop and implement teaching plans for patients concerning health promotion and restoration.
• Provide education, emotional support and age-appropriate care to patients and families.
• Care for multiple patients through direct care or delegation within the team.
• Evaluate patient responses and outcomes to interventions.
• Use critical thinking to analyze clinical data and current literature for nursing decisions.
