Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Registered Nurse for the Float Pool Nights position to provide high‑quality inpatient care across designated units at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital and Valley West Hospital. You will work with physicians and care teams to coordinate nursing care using the nursing process and deliver compassionate, patient‑centered care.

The role requires a BSN/ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within three years, an Illinois RN license, BLS, ACLS/PALS/ENPC & TNCC within

Qualifications

BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role.
Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse.
Basic Life Support.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate with others.
Strong analytic abilities.
ER requires ACLS; PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire.
Pediatric ER requires Pediatric Advanced Life Support; TNCC within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Interact with patients, families and health team members while upholding ANA standards.
Collect/analyze data, develop/implement individualized care plans and evaluate outcomes.
Direct care and coordinate any assistants involved in patient care.
Collaborate with patient, family, physicians and staff, documenting plans focused on outcomes.
Participate in governance, committees, and unit projects.
Document patient responses to nursing interventions in health records.
Utilize evidence and research to guide practice decisions.
