Qualifications

• BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care for acutely ill patients via the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Interact effectively with patients, families and health team members while upholding ANA standards.
• Collect and analyze data, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Direct care and appropriate utilization of any assistants involved in patient care.
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians and staff; document care plans and outcomes.
• Participate in governance, committee work and unit projects.
• Document patient responses and tailor the plan of care based on findings.
• Utilize evidence and research to guide practice decisions.
