Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL seeks a Temporary Internal Registry RN for the Night Shift in Emergency Services. The assignment lasts about 12 weeks, with potential extension based on staffing needs. Compensation is $60.00 per hour as a flat rate.

The RN will provide direct patient care, perform the nursing process, and supervise teaching for patients and family. Required licensure and certifications include an active RN license, BLS, ALS, and PALS/ENPC; TNCC/CTC may be required.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• ECRN or MICN certificate required within 12 months of hire and maintained current
• EDAP certified facilities: Completion of required annual education
• NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire and maintain. Non-trauma facilities, TNCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in Telemetry.
• Direct patient and family teaching and supervise other nursing staff.
• Communicate changes in patient condition with physicians and document results.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Ensure EMTALA compliance and report abuse as required.
