Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Temporary Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) for the Night Shift in the Intensive Care Unit. The assignment is expected to last 12 weeks with a full-time .9 schedule.

Responsibilities include delivering safe patient care using the nursing process, coordinating with physicians, and guiding patient/family education within ICU standards. State RN license and BLS required; ACLS and CCRN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital; critical care preferred.
• Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provides direct patient care within ICU scope; directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physician about changes in patient condition, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic results and symptoms.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
