Job summary

St. Mary's Hospital – Kankakee is seeking a Temporary Internal Registry RN for the Night Shift in Telemetry. The 12-week assignment may extend based on staffing needs.

The RN will deliver safe patient care using the nursing process, provide direct care in Telemetry, and mentor other staff while communicating with physicians about patient status and test results. EMTALA, privacy, and abuse reporting rules apply.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate.
• Current ALS certificate.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• ECRN or MICN certificate required within 12 months of hire and maintained current.
• EDAP certified facilities: Completion of required annual education.
• Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Trauma designated facilities: TNCC required within 12 months of hire and maintain.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in Telemetry.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Ensure EMTALA regulations compliance and report abuse to appropriate agencies.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
