Job summary

UCHealth in Denver area seeks a Part-Time clinical nurse educator to coordinate, supervise and evaluate nursing student educational experiences, including a clinical faculty appointment at the University of Colorado-Denver College of Nursing.

The role involves hospital orientation, collaboration with course coordinators, supervision of students, and participation in direct patient care to maintain clinical competence. Requires RN license, BSN; MSN preferred or in progress.

Qualifications

• BSN from an NLN or CCNE accredited or state board of nursing approved program.
• Internal: Enrolled in a MSN program to be completed within 5 years or post hire plan for MSN program.
• External: BSN from an NLN or CCNE accredited or state board of nursing approved program and MSN in nursing management or nursing education.
• State licensure as an RN.
• 3 years of recent clinical experience in specialty or related area.
• BLS through the AHA or Red Cross with card in-hand before start date; renewals must be issued by AHA.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates hospital orientation for nursing students; coordinates course content, objectives and learning activities.
• Provides clinical supervision and evaluation of students with preceptors; conducts clinical conferences.
• Participates in direct patient care activities to maintain clinical competence and documents medication administration.
• Assists preceptors and leadership to develop education program goals; may include Multidisciplinary Grand Rounds and RN Orientation.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and decisive judgement.
