Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC) for the CPEP unit on the night shift. You will assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery.

The role requires NY RN license, BSN preferred, and acute care experience. This full-time night position offers exposure to emergency care and opportunities to contribute to quality improvement within Psychiatry - CPEP.

Qualifications

• Must have NYS RN license.
• BSN or higher preferred.
• Previous acute care experience preferred.
• Experience in psychiatric and/or mental health settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and nursing needs; coordinate with other health disciplines.
• Develop written individualized care plans including discharge planning.
• Administer direct care and medications as needed.
• Practice infection control and maintain safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to RN/Clinician.
• Maintain current written plans of care and set patient/family goals.
• Document patient/family teaching and responses in medical records.
• Collaborate with staff and other departments.
• Participate in quality assurance activities within the unit.
