Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Des Moines is seeking registered nurses for full-time or part-time night shifts (7pm–7:30am) with every third weekend and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities include providing and coordinating nursing care, documenting care, collaborating with physicians, assessing needs, and supporting discharge planning. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and Iowa RN licensure; minimum 12 months acute RN experience; RN Residency for new grads.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months acute RN experience.
• New graduate RN may join the RN Residency program for Des Moines openings.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates nursing care to patients using the nursing process.
• Completes documentation to ensure an accurate record of care.
• Utilizes critical thinking and maintains responsibility for patient condition knowledge.
• Collaborates with physicians and other professionals in planning and implementing care.
• Assesses patient and family needs, facilitates discharge planning, and refers to community services.
• Applies a holistic approach considering physical, psychological, social, spiritual and safety needs.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, safety and customer service.
