Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for a part-time night shift position at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. The RN provides individualized, high-quality nursing care across ages, coordinating with the care team during admission, transfer and discharge.

You will work rotating nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies while documenting care and supporting patient autonomy and rights.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or compact state.
• BLS certification within 6 weeks of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Must read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Administers nursing care to patients; assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Delivers care per physician orders, unit protocols and professional judgment.
• Communicates effectively with staff, physicians, patients and families.
• Participates in ongoing clinical education and professional development.
• Contributes to peers' development and patient education and counseling.
• Upholds patient autonomy, dignity and rights; considers safety, effectiveness and cost in care.
