Jefferson Health in Abington, Pennsylvania seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory therapy, assess patient conditions, and collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate treatment plans. You will document care and ensure compliance with quality standards.

The role includes monitoring patients on mechanical ventilation, performing PFTs and ABGs, and coordinating care with the health care team to support safe patient discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support/BLS.
• Associate's degree required.
• Registered by the NBRC; if not registered, must obtain NBRC registration within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.
• Administers physician prescribed respiratory therapy including oxygen, meds, PFTs, ABGs, and ventilation.
• Performs evaluation procedures to determine care needs and recommends care plans.
• Monitors ventilated patients including rounds, troubleshooting, weaning, and airway care.
• Collects sputum, blood and breath specimens and measures lung capacity.
• Communicates results and treatment suggestions to the health care team.
• Ensures smooth operation of PFT and ABG laboratory and performs other duties as assigned.
