Job summary

Jefferson Health Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, PA is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a part-time night shift (20 hours/week). You will administer respiratory therapy, monitor patients, and collaborate with physicians to optimize care.

The role requires NBRC credential, state licensure, BLS, and preferred ACLS; AMA approved school graduate and 2-year degree. You will contribute to patient outcomes and adhere to care standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• NBRC registered or must obtain NBRC registration within 2 years of hire.
• ACLS and/or NALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.
• Administers physician prescribed respiratory therapy, including oxygen, medications, PFTs, ABGs, and ventilation.
• Performs evaluation procedures to determine care needs and make recommendations.
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation, including rounds, troubleshooting, weaning, airway care, and testing.
• Collects and analyzes sputum, blood and breath specimens for diagnosis and measures lung capacity.
• Offers diagnostic results and treatment suggestions based on analyses.
• Communicates with health care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Ensures smooth operation of PFT and ABG lab, or other duties as assigned.
