Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the Lansdale Hospital location. The role covers per diem night shifts, administering respiratory therapy, monitoring ventilated patients, and collaborating with physicians to optimize care. Required NBRC registration or eligibility with NBRC within 2 years, AMA‑approved Respiratory Care program, state license, and BLS.

Qualifications

• AMA approved School of Respiratory Care graduate.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Associate's/2-year degree required.
• Registered by the NBRC (if Certified or not registered by the NBRC, must obtain NBRC registration within 2 years of hire).
• ACLS and/or NALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Administers physician-prescribed respiratory therapy, including oxygen, medications, PFTs, ABGs, and all mechanical ventilation.
• Performs evaluation procedures to determine respiratory care needs and makes recommendations to improve patient outcomes.
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation including assessment, rounds, weaning, airway care, and diagnostics.
• Collects and analyzes sputum, blood and breath specimens for diagnosis and measures lung capacity.
• Communicates with health care team to ensure continuity of care.
