Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory therapy, assess patients, and coordinate with physicians to determine effective treatment plans. The ideal candidate will have NBRC credentials, active state licensure, and a strong commitment to patient care.

The role involves monitoring patients on mechanical ventilation, performing PFTs and ABGs, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• NBRC credential required or eligible for credentialing
• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
• BLS certification required; ACLS/NALS preferred
• Associate's degree or higher in Respiratory Care

Responsibilities

• Administers physician-prescribed respiratory therapy including oxygen, medications, PFTs, ABGs, and ventilation
• Performs invasive and non-invasive evaluation procedures to assess respiratory care needs
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation, including rounds, weaning, airway care, and diagnostics
• Collects sputum, blood, and breath specimens for analysis and monitors lung function
• Communicates findings and treatment recommendations to the health care team
• Ensures smooth operation of PFT and ABG lab and adheres to supervisor directions
