Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. This per diem Level 2 position covers nights with a 7:00pm–7:30am shift and requires a CoARC-accredited RT program, IL licensure within 6 months, and CPR/ACLS/NRP/PALS within 24 months.

Per diem commitments include 73-110 hours per 6-week schedule. Responsibilities include assisting physicians, delivering respiratory therapy to all ages, documenting treatments and orders, and educating

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program is required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry eligible status is required.
• Illinois licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS must be obtained within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe orders.
• Communicate treatment to patients and families clearly.
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with focus on pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide patient and staff education.

Education

Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry eligible
