Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for per diem night shifts at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The role requires 48 hours over six weeks, with 24 weekend hours, and shifts from 7pm to 7:30am, including holidays. ADN.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, delivering pediatric to geriatric respiratory therapy, documenting care, and educating patients and families. Meets CoARC-accredited program and state licensure requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry-eligible status.
• Illinois licensure required within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients as ordered.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable treatment method.
• Document treatments, equipment maintenance and QA activities; transcribe orders as needed.
• Communicate treatment details clearly to patients and families.
• Monitor patient responses, with special attention to pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Educate patients and staff on respiratory care practices.
