Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for per diem Level 2 night shifts at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The schedule includes 73-110 hours per 6 weeks with varied nights and a minimum of two weekend shifts, plus one major holiday in the first and last six months.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, delivering respiratory care to diverse patient groups, assessing treatment methods, documenting care and orders, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program as required by CoARC.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry-eligible status.
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification required.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS within 24 months of employment are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities; transcribe physician orders.
• Communicate treatment details to patients and families clearly.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy, with attention to neonatal and pediatric patients.
• Provide education to patients and staff.
