Job summary

The position requires NBRC credential, BLS certification, and an associate degree in respiratory care, with licensing through state boards. Work shifts include nights at Albert Einstein Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Associate's degree in Respiratory Care required; NBRC registration within 2 years of hire.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.
• Administers physician prescribed respiratory therapy including oxygen, medications, PFTs, ABGs, and ventilation.
• Performs evaluation procedures to determine care needs and recommends based on protocols.
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation including assessment, rounds, weaning, and airway care.
• Collects and analyzes specimens to diagnose and measure lung capacity.
• Communicates with the health care team to ensure continuity of care.
