Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for full-time night shifts atJeff Hwy. This role provides respiratory care, oxygen therapy, and diagnostic support to neonatal through geriatric patients, with responsibilities including ABG analysis and ventilation management.

The incumbent must hold an active respiratory therapist license in the practice state, NBRC RRT certification, BLS, and ACLS within 90 days of hire; associate degree required, bachelor’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Required: Associate's Degree in respiratory care or related field.
• Current Respiratory Therapist license in the practicing state.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures as ordered.
• Provides age-appropriate care across neonatal to geriatric patients.
• Adapts communication to the patient population and setting.
