Job summary

Ochsner Health System seeks a Rapid Response Respiratory Therapist for OMC Jeff Hwy. This full-time night-shift role provides respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostics and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients.

Requires Associate's Degree, active Respiratory Therapist license, NBRC CRT, BLS; ACLS within 90 days. NICU-trained staff may require NRP certification. The position includes a sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Current RT license in state of practice.
• Certification as CRT by NBRC and BLS required.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire; NRP for NICU trained therapists.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory care procedures per policy.
• Monitors and documents patient data, oxygen therapy and ventilation.
• Draws and analyzes ABGs and EKGs, and reports results.
• Educates patients and staff on treatment plans and procedures.
• Assists with artificial airway changes and equipment as ordered.
• Maintains certifications and up-to-date knowledge of procedures.
• Attends staff meetings and performs other duties as required.
