Job summary

Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, LA, seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for night shift in the NICU. You will provide respiratory care, oxygen therapy, diagnostics, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients, under physician orders and established policies.

Responsibilities include ABG analysis, EKGs, patient and staff education, and adapting care to age and clinical needs. Must have active RT license, NBRC RRT, and BLS; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures (ABGs, EKGs) as ordered.
• Provides age-appropriate care and maintains privacy and safety standards.
